A New Normal

Updated: Aug 14, 2020

I actually wrote this three years ago and reread it yesterday. I knew I had to share...

To do this authentically, we must stop trying to be someone we are not! What is “normal” anyway?! Create your own “normal” based on the life you have TODAY. Not a life that you lived in the past that was altered by the progression of life.

Here you are… Enjoy!

Let go of the old Laura. Stop trying to be normal... You are not. And what is "normal" anyway? I have decided I am my own new normal.

We all try to fit in but when you live with a disability it's very difficult. So you get good at making excuses. Mine were usually for my foot drop. My foot would drag every few steps and I would trip. I was the biggest klutz in the world! I would usually laugh it off around others… so in reality walking was literally a joke to me! If walking was a joke then how would I ever run? Or jump? Or hike?

Amy Purdy @amypurdygurl has taught me that “Our borders can do two things... either stop us in our tracks or force us to get creative.” This is the game changer! Get creative with your dreams and never ever give up on them!

I live inspired every day in my own new normal and I take the small wins because all of those small, creative wins will add up to big things!

Thank you @amypurdygurl I will forever #liveinspired
